Our Mission
At CPG-Foundation Furniture Bank, we believe that solving homelessness in Rhode Island requires more than just providing a roof over someone’s head, it means turning a house into a home.
While an incredible network of nonprofits across our state works tirelessly to build and place individuals into affordable and supportive housing, too often these spaces are delivered empty and lacking the essential furnishings that make a space feel safe, comfortable, and livable. Without the means to furnish their new home, many individuals feel disconnected, unsupported, and too often, end up back on the streets.
Our mission is to bridge this critical gap. By providing free, high-quality gently used furniture to individuals transitioning out of homelessness and by allowing them to choose items that reflect their needs and dignity, we help transform empty units into real homes. This simple, human act has been shown to increase housing retention rates by over 36%.
Since launching in June 2022, our grassroots team has furnished more than 450+ homes.,
Now, with a clear roadmap and proven model, we are ready to scale: expanding our infrastructure, collecting donations directly from generous community members, and serving the thousands of individuals each year who need not just housing, but a home.
Together, we can ensure that every person exiting homelessness in Rhode Island is met not with bare walls, but with dignity, comfort, and hope.
